Corona Cigarette Cutting Challange

Corona is not the only pandemic ravaging the world. Have you seen smoking baby?

As a result of spending so much of my time isolated at home avoiding Corona, I had lots of free time, so I decided to cleanse myself of the smokedemic I had been unable to avoid.

To be clear, I wasn’t a pack a day smoker, I have been more of a couple smokes at the bar smoker for the last ~7 years, but a business trip at the start of 2020 had me go through a pack of JUUL pods in a week, so my nicotine addiction took a bit of a step up before the lung-eating Coronavirus hit our shores.

Today, I’m happy to say that I was able to quit smoking during the Corona quarantine, but it was difficult, and I wasn’t the biggest smoker in the world to begin with, and my life was affected far less than others. So, don’t beat yourself up if you don’t succeed at quitting during the quarantine. Every quitting attempt is a step forward.

BUT, at the same time, let’s face it, you’ve never had more reasons to quit…..

Fear:

  • Smokers are face touchers… and our face touching = death
  • Our Smokers’ lungs <  Corona
  • There are not enough ventilators
  • Regardless of Corona, smoking is killing us ( ~ 8 million of us per year )

Convenience:

  • The pandemic has given most of us extra free time to deal with withdrawal
  • It’s easier than usual to avoid our cigarette-smoking friends
  • Our regular smoking routines are already half-broken
  • With this Corona economy, We’re gonna have to cut our expenses somewhere..

Resources:

  • There have never been more resources and products to help us quit!
  • Check out the resources and products linked at the bottom of this blog post.

Hope

  • More and more people are quitting successfully every year!. Check out this graph.

Helpful Products and Resources:

I could write about the particulars of what I did to quit, but based on my research, what worked for me, doesn’t usually work for others.

In fact, based on my research, I believe your best bet to quit is to call the quitting hotline and create a quitting plan with a professional.
